Balikbayan Visa

Balikbayan refers to the returning filipino citizen, Former Filipino citizen and a Filipino overseas worker. Now if you are a minor child or a spouse of a Balikbayan, you can stay in the Philippines visa free in a year or less.


These are the requirements needed:


1.Submit accomplished visa application (FA Form 2-A) with passport size photo attached.

Application should be notorized if applying through mail.

2. Submit original passport (together with a photocopy of the data page of the passport) with a validity of at least six (6) months beyond the proposed stay in the Philippines.

3. Proof of financial capacity

Such as, bank statement,tax return, or pay stub.


4. Travel Itinerary (applicant must be a holder of a roundtrip or onward flight ticket to the next country of destination).


5. For nationals of countries without Visa Agreement with the Philippines

Requirements Nos. (1) - (5),

For Chinese Passport (PROC), submit two (2) accomplished visa applications and two (2) passport size photographs .

6. Photocopy of the U.S. Alien Registration Card (Green Card), if permanent resident to the United States.

7. Photocopy of valid U.S. Visa.

8 . If married to a Filipino citizen, Photocopy of marriage certificate/contract.

9. Payment of Visa fee - $40 for Single entry; $80 for Multiple Entry (valid for 6 months).



Additional for Minors


Pleasure visas for Minors

a. Children accompanied by or coming to a parent must comply with requirements

(1) to (4), plus photocopy of airline ticket and travel itinerary of the parent.

b. Duly notarized Affidavit of Consent to Travel by parent who is not traveling with the child. c. Waiver of Exclusion Ground (WEG) for certain minors: In addition to requirements enumerated, minors under 15 years of age, unaccompanied by or not traveling with a parent to the Philippines are required to have a WEG issued by the Bureau of Immigration in Manila. A visa is issued even without the WEG upon submission of the requirements. In this case, the following must be submitted to the Bureau of Immigration at the port of entry in the Philippines:


  • Duly notarized Affidavit of Request, Consent and Guaranty by parent/s or legally appointed guardian/s of the child naming ,therein the person who will be accompanying the child to the Philippines and with whom the child will reside in the country;

  • Birth Certificate of the child;

  • Photocopy of the data page of the child’s passport;

  • Photocopy of the Marriage Certificate of the Parents;

  • Photocopy of the Identification Cards of Parents (i.e. State ID, Driver's License, or data page of passport);

  • Photocopy of passport of accompanying adult or guardian

  • Payment of Visa fee - $30 for Single Entry; $60 for Multiple Entry (valid for 6 months), and $90 for Multiple Entry (valid for a year).
